How to Keep Your Home Organized This Holiday Season
This time of year, it’s easy to let home organization take a back seat. Our closets become filled with gifts galore, wrapping paper is crammed into cupboards, and cards are strewn hastily into junk drawers. So how does one stay organized this holiday season? We have a few tips and tricks!
Start Small
Committing to organizing your home all at once can feel overwhelming. Instead, set small daily goals for yourself.
For example: dedicate the first week of December towards cleaning your main living areas, the second week towards closets and cupboards, the third towards your garage, and the fourth towards your kitchen and pantry. Give Back
Donating your excess items is especially fulfilling during the holiday season. This is a great time of year to give warm coats, blankets, and sweaters to those who need it! Here are a few places to take your donatable items:
The Denver Rescue Mission accepts gently used men’s, womens & children’s clothing in good condition for Denver’s homeless.
Vietnam Veterans of America will take gently used clothing as well and you may schedule a pick up of items boxed/bagged at your home.
Your local Goodwill or ARC are also great options.
